I "Heart" Paris Tag: Stampsmith Tag Swap

Hi Smithies!
I thought you might like to see the tag I made for Laurie (The Yahoo Group Tag Swap).  I used the I Love Paris single stamp.  I made the background by spraying glimmer mists onto a tag cut from cream CS.  The hearts are covered with Piccolo enamel powder.

See more pics and details on my blog, Dreaming and Creating.
Hope you are having a great day.  Any day with stamping is a great day, right??!!

Fabulous Marilyn

I have a fun Marilyn-inspired card to share with you today.  This fabulous photostamp of Marilyn, seated, is by The Stampsmith.  You can contact Estelle for more details on her movie star stamps.  I used some gorgeous Weekend Market patterned paper by Bo Bunny, added these stunning gold metallic paper flowers by Recollections and finished off the embellishing with some tulle to match her dress.

Here's a close up of Marilyn.

I tucked white tulle around the edge of the half circle layer, although it was hard to capture in a photo. You might be able to see it a little better here.

It's nearly time for a new challenge over at The Stampsmith Challenge blog, but you still have time to get in on the current challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate from The Stampsmith Store, valued at $21.00!   I hope you decide to play along in the fun!

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Woman of Mystery

Hello
Today I would like to share another tag, this time depicting Cleopatra from Cleopatra and Friends plate.
As I did with the previous tag I shared, I stamped the image directly onto my "shabby" tag. I chose to ink up the full image but these stamps are versatile in that you do not need to include the text, either don't ink that part or tear it off.
The usual inclusion of fragments of this 'n' that.
TSC August Challenge is still open and we look forward to viewing your entries.

Funny Desk Art

I've created a funny bit of framed art for my latest DT piece...which I think my hubby has claimed for his desk at work.   The patterned papers are from a 'Vintage Timeless' paper pad.  They're lovely papers and I thought the vintage writing, pocket watches and postmarks would go well together on this piece.

I've been wanting to play with this photostamp of AE by The Stampsmith for some time now; I'm actually snickering to myself at how it turned out. How funny is Einstein in this pic?

I pondered for a while on what I thought he might be saying and I settled on this quote that I found by him. I chose a nice font (Gessele) and printed it off.

In case you can't read the quote, it reads as follows:
"If A is a success in life
then A equals x plus y plus z.
Work is x, y is play; and
z is keeping your mouth shut."

TSC33: Anything Goes Challenge

It's challenge time again over at The Stampsmith Challenge and we've made it super simple for you this time since you choose the theme! That's right, Anything Goes! The only thing we ask, in order to be eligible for the prize draw, is that you use at least one stamp by The Stampsmith in your project. Just have fun with it! :)

I chose to create a wall hanging for my project, although you're more than welcome to simply make a card, as well. I just had a craving for altering something!  lol   :)   My wall hanging is mounted onto a wood block that has a hollowed out area in the back for hanging.  I've always liked this image by The Stampsmith.   She looks like she's is deep thought about the past...treasured moments perhaps?

I hope you decide to play along in the fun.  Don't wait too long, though, you only have until August 31st to get your entries in.  I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Loving Paris Tag

Hi Smithies,
I have been making a few tags lately.  One for the Stampsmith Group tag swap and this extra one.  I used the single stamp "I Love Paris".  The background is made by spraying a cream 3 x 6 tag with Glimmer Mist.

More info on my blog, Dreaming and Creating.  Have a lovely day!

Her Sweet Face

Hello Everyone
I have a tag I would like to share using another stamp from the fabulous Cleopatra and Friends plate
. Anne Page. I stamped her onto a tag I had stained tearing off the bottom edge to trim with stained lace and adding little bits of this and that, here and there on the tag.
Another post I will share some more tags I've made using this plate and of course this blog is always kept busy with artwork from my DT sisters.
I hope you are remembering that TSC is underway and with a prize up for grabs it is well worth taking the time to enter the challenge.

Her Face Tells A Story

Hello Everyone
I would like to share a piece of jewellery that is my DT sample for this month's TSC Anything Goes and which was actually made with a friend in mind for one of her birthday gifts.
I used Cleopatra and Friends plate which consists of six Shakespeare characters.
I always associated The Stampsmith with photo real stamps (excluding the much loved Ophelia) but Estelle has a beautiful array of non-photo real stamps, in particular Shakespeare characters, such as Portia above.
I will hold my hands up and say that I under-estimated this plate. It is far more versatile than I could have imagined. In the short time I've had it to play with I've stamped Portia alone onto cards, tags, altered canvas, an altered box, this brooch and more to come. Isn't that what we all want from our stamps, that we can use them time after time on different projects to ensure the best value for money.  By viewing them simply as beautiful images they extend beyond the appeal of Shakespeare fans alone.
Remember that the August TSC is underway and we would love to see your Anything Goes artwork. If you are interested, click the link on the sidebar.
More details of this brooch on show at my Blog, Adorn.

Serena in Pencil

Good evening crafters, I am here this evening to post a DT for The Stampsmith.  I had a lot of fun creating this project.  It may be my newest obsession for Estelle's yummy stamps.  Here's a peek at what I created:

I used Serena Art Rubber Stamp for this project and for a change I stamped it and colored it with my Prisma colored pencils.  I am over the moon happy with how this turned out.  If you are interested in how I created this card, pop over to my blog.

Thanks for peeking in!
